Hooked on Books

For some reason, before reading the book, I was thinking Veronica Speedwell was a lady detective and alchemist but I must have confused my characters because that's not really her at all. Veronica is a naturalist and a lepidopterist (butterfly hunter and collector). She has spunk, she speaks her mind and she loves adventure! Oh yes, Veronica is my kind of girl! I could definitely see her and I being great friends and having tons of fun traveling on adventures together! Stoker, her sidekick through the story is also a natural historian but he is rugged, handsome and temperamental, with baggage from his past that he needs to work through. I thought the interplay between the two was very entertaining and I'm curious to see what's in store for them. This story was a lot of fun but then I've loved every book Raybourn has ever written! I think she is just so talented and I really enjoy her writing style. I don't think I have ever found anything to complain about. LOL Her words just seem to come so effortlessly! This is definitely the start of another great series and I hope the next one comes out soon!
